UNLOQ Has Your Back — Part Two
Transaction Authorisation. With UNLOQ you can create custom transaction authorisations that satisfy your digital properties’ needs.
Hi guys! Today we’re going to talk about the second way in which UNLOQ’s multi- factor authentication methods offer you protection against data breaches and cyber-attacks. Hopefully you've already read the first part of our ‘UNLOQ Has Your Back series’, and if you haven’t, then you can read it here.

It is now clear that the multi-factor authentication has become a necessity in order to make sure data is protected and it doesn't get unwanted attention. Governments are just starting to pour heavy money into the allocation of cybersecurity budgets including president Obama, who has presented the Cybersecurity Action Plan earlier this week. His vision is to empower Americans to move beyond traditional and hard to remember passwords and add an additional layer of security to their online accounts.
NCSA has started a program called STOP.THINK.CONNECT. that aims to encourage the expansion of multi-factor authentication education. This initiative is promoted by some of the biggest tech players on the market, including, Visa, Google and Microsoft.
Creating a safe cyber-space and ensuring a proper cyber-security is a joint responsibility, and our team here at UNLOQ is working hard to create the optimal multi- factor authentication product.
But let’s get back to the topic of today’s post: UNLOQ’s transaction authorisation. As we were telling you last week, UNLOQ offers you protection in three areas:
- User authentication
- Transaction authorisation
- Data at rest

Part Two: Transaction Authorisation
The second area in which UNLOQ offers companies protection is Transaction Authorisation. They are able to send a push notification to a user’s phone for the transaction approval before the requested action is performed. This authorisation has been implemented to protect users when they do a sensitive action like an online banking payment or other financial transactions. Your users’ safety should always come first!
How does UNLOQ’s Transaction Authorisation work?
Step 1: Secure your system
The first thing you must do is to establish which actions your user performs that need to be protected against unwanted malicious intrusions and define the corresponding action in UNLOQ’s admin panel. You can personalise the notification message, security options and implement the API calls after reading our documentation here.
Step 2: Receive user’s approval
After receiving a notification on his phone, the user will review it and then approve or deny it. His answer will get back to you so you can take the right action after using this multi-factor process to verify his identity.
Step 3: Send a push notification to the user’s phone
Each time your users will perform the sensitive actions mentioned above which you have already pre-configured and integrated with UNLOQ’s authorisation system, it makes a call to our API to trigger a push notification to the user’s phone.
How can you welcome Transaction Authorisation to your business?
- Download the application from App Store or Google Play
- Create an account
- Implement the API calls after reading the documentation
Don’t be overwhelmed by all the steps you have to take to enjoy the full benefits of multi- factor authentication because it will only take a few minutes.

Multi- factor authentication is revolutionising the way we authenticate online making everything easier and more secure. You will no longer have to worry about setting, remembering and most important, having it stolen.
