UNLOQ Has Your Back — Part One
User Authentication. With UNLOQ strong authentication solution you know exactly who is trying to log in.
You can’t make cyber-attacks disappear, but what you can do is make sure you've done everything in your powers to prevent them from happening to you. Or at least that’s how it should be. The ‘won’t happen to me’ mindset is far from offering you any protection. How much does your users’ security matter, and most important: are you willing to compromise it?
It’s really difficult for companies to set up a perfect hacker-proof system, if one even exists out there. Not to mention the huge sums of money they have to invest in such a system. When setting up your cyber protection solution, it’s not enough to cover only one vulnerability area.

We know that a strong password is history in terms of security, if you want your website and users to be protected against potential attacks, and this is why we have created UNLOQ. It provides passwordless security that is extremely easy to use and embed into your website.

UNLOQ offers you protection in three main areas:
- User authentication
- Transaction authorisation
- Data at rest
Part One: The User Authentication System
We are offering you 3 different authentication methods that you can choose from when setting up your app. You can try them all and see which one suits you the best, since you are able to choose the authentication method any time you want.

Multi-factor authentication through push notifications
UNLOQ’s default authentication method is by push notifications. This uses out of band communication which requires the user to have a near-by phone connected to the Internet. This authentication method makes it more difficult for hackers to break the website’s security systems because they’d have to have access to different and unconnected devices.
When the UNLOQ button is pressed, the user receives a push notification on his phone allowing him to approve or deny the incoming request. It’s easy as that!
Multi-factor authentication through TOTP (one time password)
The second authentication method is through one time passwords, and is ideally used offline, when the user doesn’t have access to an Internet connection. He is able to log in using a password that resets once every minute, and an email address. This is a great alternative for offline authentication, but it can get tricky when the user wants to logout remotely.
Email login
Our third method is by using an email address where the user will receive a unique URL to access. The received links is only valid for 2 minutes, before it expires. When the user logs in for the first time, he must enter his one-time password, and after this he will not be required to enter any other info as long as he logs in from the same browser.

Whichever of these options you will decide upon, it’s all just a matter of choosing the right ‘weapon of choice’ for your business! UNLOQ offers you the perfect mix for your cyber security. Read more about us here.
