The Internet is the biggest place on Earth. It embodies everything, it has everything , it’s the place where you can find and do anything. It changed the world and it’s a part of our lives in ways we don’t even comprehend. For many people it’s just a tool that they use to connect with friends, to look things up, to shop online. But as much as the Internet is a part of us, we are a part of it.

You’re online. Just by reading this your information got online. A cookie was created, a time and date was registered with an IP address. The Internet is information and a lot of people live either in blissful ignorance of it or in fear. Hacking is such a powerful word now, it brings fear and frightens people. Why? Because hacking and its numerous forms, overcomes the security that you’re supposed to have.

People hear about hacking scandals, about confidential information leaking out and they fear these things, but at the same time they put themselves out of it. “That wouldn’t happen to me”. This sort of thinking makes them conscious about what could go wrong, but not them, to someone else. This preconception makes people use passwords that are easier to crack than a nut in a room full of squirrels. Security becomes sidelined, until it happens to you. Then you get the biggest, longest and weirdest password ever. But it can still get cracked. All password can be cracked. The route to complete and full security is a passwordless one.

The UNLOQ project and products are at the helm of this journey, one that brings safety to a new level by redefining the standards of online security. But this is not about the company, or the product, it’s about the user. It’s about you.

Most Internet users don’t consider online security, they don’t put any value on how important it is and they don’t understand how it manifests. Even just surfing the web presents certain risks because when you’re online you’re out there. You’re in the public space. In the 21st century the bad guys are behind keyboards and they can steal your life away without you even realising. Yes, it’s a bit dramatic but it’s also an understatement. The Internet is information and that’s not just a generic term, it’s not just information about things — it’s your information, your businesses information and your privacy. People care about privacy but lack interest in online security. Quite a paradox.
